Canopus / proposed banking institution

Does the world need another bank?

Probably not.

But it may need a different one.

Pre-licenceNo banking services offered

Why Canopus

International business is global.
Banking often still feels local.

Businesses operating across markets, currencies and regulatory environments need infrastructure that understands the spaces between conventional categories.

Canopus is being developed as a focused cross-border banking institution for that reality. Its final business perimeter, products and operating model will remain subject to regulatory review, authorisation and approved conditions.

Intended focus

A proposition, not a promise.

The following areas describe the current design thesis. They are not live services and do not imply regulatory approval.

01

International payments

Cross-border payment capabilities built around strong controls, transparent purpose and reliable execution.

02

Foreign exchange

Practical currency capabilities for international business, subject to approved scope and risk appetite.

03

Trade services

Support for legitimate trade flows where documentation, counterparties and economic purpose can be understood.

04

Treasury

Disciplined liquidity and balance-sheet management designed for resilience before optimisation.

05

Selected infrastructure

Carefully governed banking-as-a-service and card capabilities through regulated partners, where appropriate.

06

Human judgement

Technology for scale; accountable people for ambiguity, exceptions and decisions with consequences.

Current status

Being built deliberately.

  1. Corporate establishment

Group entities and the holding-company platform have been established.

    Established
  2. Governance, capital and operating design

Policies, systems, people and evidence are being assembled and tested.

    In development
  3. Regulatory authorisation

Any banking activity remains subject to the applicable licensing process and formal approval.

    Pending
  4. Banking operations

No accounts, deposits, payments, cards or banking products are currently available.

    Not commenced
